When children are taken from their homes because of an abuse situation, they often have nothing personal to take with them. Thus “Therapy Bags” which include a blanket, a stuffed animal, activities, a reading book and hygiene items. Deannah Che Preston (pictured here in the middle) wanted her Senior project to be meaningful, so she decided to fund raise and put together 50 of these Bags for the Friends to distribute.
Thank you, Deannah! With Friends like Deannah, the “Friends” are able to help abused children feel less traumatized when they leave home. Pictured with Deannah are her mother (to the left) Dr. Hannah Preston-Pita and Robin Benedict (to the right), the Friends Program Coordinator. Robin was recently severely injured in a car accident. She is recuperating and thanks to our many fabulous volunteers, the work of the Friends is being maintained.
