On October 25, 2016, the Friends of the Children’s Justice Center of East Hawaii became the most recent beneficiary of Ohana Fuels’ ‘Fuel Up. Do Good’ program.
BISAC (Big Island Substance Abuse Council) knows how stressful it can be for a child who is being removed from their home… or one returning to their home after being in Foster Care. These “Therapy Bags” contain a Stuffed Animal”, some kind of activity (like a coloring book and crayons) and more. The children now have something that is “just their own” to keep with them. It’s great when one local non-profit can help another… and that’s what the Friends of the Zoo did when they donated really cute plush frogs to the FRIENDS. Keiki visiting the Center can select one of these frogs as their special item. Mahalo Friends of the Zoo!
Thanks to Orchid Isle Ford’s generous bid during the FRIENDS Annual Recognition Dinner, several keiki were able to visit this Firehouse and eat lunch with the Firemen. Mahalo Ford and the Firehouse!
