Every year in early December, the Children’s Justice Center of East Hawaii puts on a Holiday Open House to thank all the social workers, police and local politicians for their work during the past year. The hospitality always includes plenty of food!

Last year, the Open House was well attended and enjoyed by nearly 50 people. US Senator Maize Hirono, Council Member Dennis “Fresh” Onishi and State Representative Clifton Tsuji are seen here with Terri Lum, the Center’s Program Director.

“All these hard working people deserve a small reward,” said Lum. “At the Center, we help to keep police, child welfare services, specialized medical providers, prosecutors, victim advocates, therapists and others in contact with each other to decrease confusion and further trauma to the child victim and their family. They all have a very hard job and we are happy to host them with a Thank You Open House.” concluded Lum.
